67 Minutes for Mandela Day!
ASIE Personnel spent Mandela Day at SANCB – South African National Council for the Blind.
We assisted them with some paintwork at their training campus and head office in Brooklyn, Pretoria.
They have been helping the blind since 1929, The SANCB is a national organization and comprises nine provincial structures and nearly 100 member organisations. It is also affiliated to international organisations including the African Union of the Blind (AFUB) and the World Blind Union (WBU).
The SANCB do some incredible work including going into communities, testing eyesight, have training centers for the blind and visually impaired. They rely on government funding but also on corporate sponsorship’s. Definitely an NPO worth supporting – https://sancb.org.za/
Their vision is enhanced facilitation and collaborations with a network of Organizations for the full participation and inclusion of blind and partially sighted people in all aspects of a diverse South African society.
If you feel you can assist in any way, get in touch with them!
