Interview Preperation


Interviews can be stressful, here are 5 key tips to help you get a good start:

  1. The interview venue
  • Make a memorable note of the time and place of the interview along with the name of your interviewer(s).
  • Prepare to be at least 15 minutes early for your interview.  Punctuality can show that you are interested in the company and is a good start to any interview.
  • If you are unsure about where the company is, Google maps with the physical address or take a drive the day before.
  • Should you be late due to unforeseen circumstances please contact your interviewer 15 minutes prior to your interview to let us know that you will be late.
  1. Research company background
  • Find out as much as you can about the company – visit their website, know what they do, their values and understand their business.
  • Go through the Job Spec thoroughly make sure you understand the role.  You will be asked questions about your understanding about the role.
  • Think about what attracted you to the job description and highlight what makes you unique.  This will give you the edge and to stand out from the rest.
  1. Be enthusiastic
  • Show your passion for what you do, what you enjoy about your job most, and what value you would be able to add to this role.
  • Have a positive attitude during the interview.
  1. Practice interview questions
  • Practice answering interview questions and practice your responses.
  • Think of actual examples you can use to describe your skills.
  • Providing evidence of your successes is a great way to promote yourself.
  1. Look sharp and smart!
  • Your presentation will make a statement about yourself.
  • Dress in your best black business suit.
